Media Analysis Lecture 1

One could not possible begin to imagine the quantity of magazines in the industry, its simply fantastic, the array of styles, genres and publishers has insired me to what to know more. To find out what those magazines, from consumer and trade to contract consist of.
The lecture presented to us concerning Media Analysis struck me and made me realise how narrow minded i must be where my knowledge of magazines and their genres are brought into play.
I have gained a huge surge of curiosity from this particular session and am so excited to start acquiring slightly more adventurous magazines to explore rather than the usual suspects such as Vogue, Comopolitan and Glamour (don't get me wrong these are all beautifully composed publications.)
I have learned that from reading other magazines, including Drapers Record and WWD, i can compare styles of writing, layouts and structure to help broaden my own creativity with writing skills. One thing i was rather concerned about i will admit, is that the average price of each magazine, although fairly irrelevant. As students we must learn t budget so i am very sure this will not help that aspect of university life. one just simply cannot help one selves from indulging in each and every glossy fashion bible.
